Taichilates is a mind and body coordinated exercise system created by Sunny Fong that combines the fluidity of Tai Chi Chuan with important characteristics of Pilates, such as strengthening the core abdominal muscles and spinal stabilizers, and enhancing mobility and movements in the joints. The upper torso is evenly utilized in the practice of Taichilates for the purpose of balancing neuromuscular development and enhancing better Chi and blood circulation.

The practice of Taichilates requires a combination of vigor and gentleness. Movements are natural and relaxed; motion remains even and fluid without muscle stiffness or rigidness. Breathing is natural and regular. The mind remains calm and focused while the body is centered and balanced.
